Identity Crisis – Asserting Your Mind Spirit

Most authorities who write about identity tend to make it horribly complex.  I guess it helps justify the fees.

First time identity was covered in my NLP Practitioner Course we studied the Dilts model.

I remember being fascinated about how different parts of our “system” were interrelated and could effect change in proportion to how close they are to the centre of the system.  Spirit in the center, then going towards the outer edge are Identity, Beliefs/Values, Capability, Behaviour, and finally Environment.

So that’s our system.  Who we are really.  REALLY?  What if we decide differently?  That is always our right.

Is identity really just a series of decisions that impress our Mind Spirit (us)?  I think it just might be.

Today’s Quote:  ‘You are NOT what you do. YOU ARE everything you can become at your very best,’ Owen Fitzpatrick

There Is Magic In The Air

Sunday, September 13th, 2009

Once again a beautiful day here in Wellington, NZ.  Tui (native New Zealand bird) are chirping right outside my window.  Sun is out in places, and my vege garden is working on its veging technique.  Hypnotic you might say.

Because I live in such a beautiful place I don’t watch that much TV.  There isn’t much need and there isn’t much on.

A few years ago however, there was a TV series called Johnathan Creek.  I love that show!  I think they only made one season.

For those of you who have never heard of Johnathan Creek it is a BBC series starring Alan Davies (as magician’s assistant JC) who devises magic tricks in his home which happens to be a windmill; and Caroline Quentin (investigative reporter who stumbles upon an unusually high number of murder mysteries).  I like it because of it’s originality.  And it’s windmill full of magician’s mystery.

Today a JC quote instead of a Bandler one:

“Like every good trick it was simple in its conception, but intricate in its performance”.

Anyone like to comment on the quote?  I think it has much to connect it to life in general.  I wish someone like the character of Johnathan Creek could come up with an MP3 a simple design, with intricate delivery.  The magic of Johnathan Creek in my ear.

Blessings,

Keri Eagan.
