There Is Magic In The Air

Once again a beautiful day here in Wellington, NZ.  Tui (native New Zealand bird) are chirping right outside my window.  Sun is out in places, and my vege garden is working on its veging technique.  Hypnotic you might say.

Because I live in such a beautiful place I don’t watch that much TV.  There isn’t much need and there isn’t much on.

A few years ago however, there was a TV series called Johnathan Creek.  I love that show!  I think they only made one season.

For those of you who have never heard of Johnathan Creek it is a BBC series starring Alan Davies (as magician’s assistant JC) who devises magic tricks in his home which happens to be a windmill; and Caroline Quentin (investigative reporter who stumbles upon an unusually high number of murder mysteries).  I like it because of it’s originality.  And it’s windmill full of magician’s mystery.

Today a JC quote instead of a Bandler one:

“Like every good trick it was simple in its conception, but intricate in its performance”.

Anyone like to comment on the quote?  I think it has much to connect it to life in general.  I wish someone like the character of Johnathan Creek could come up with an MP3 a simple design, with intricate delivery.  The magic of Johnathan Creek in my ear.

Blessings,

Keri Eagan.

Can’t wait to visit New Zealand. I’ve only made it as close as Tahiti…

One of the biggest reasons for business failure is people copy what they see and they don’t do all the behind the scenes hidden work. That is one of the reasons that kevin Hogan’s approach to Internet Marketing is special…

  2. Hi Keri,

in my family we LOVE “Jonathan Creek.” I think there was a second season with the daughter from AbFab as his assistant. Also really good, but our favorite indeed was with Caroline Quentin.

    …Intricate in its performance

    What a great reminder indeed.

    thanks!

The quote, “Like every good trick it was simple in its conception, but intricate in its performance” is an interesting one. There are many activities that we conceive of as being simple, e.g. singing or running, but that if we actually get into the mechanics of how they’re done and how to do them with optimum efficiency, are very complicated (i.e. intricate).

New Zealand – now that is a place I’ve never thought of visiting. Sounds so wonderful and peaceful. I may have to change my thoughts.

Like every good trick it was simple in its conception, but intricate in its performance”.

This makes me think of a baby walking for the first time. He sees how easy it is for others but only sees the difficulty when doing it for himself.
