Welcome to Alternative Healing For You!
Hi there!
You are enjoying the blog of Keri Eagan. I currently reside in Wellington, New Zealand.
I’ve titled this Alternative Healing because this is the best description of what I’m interested in.
Any of you read any good books lately? Personally I enjoy self improvement type stuff. Anything to do with alternative healing and alternative natural healing. I figure if I can improve my experience of life than why not! Lately I’ve been feeling a little disappointed with what is available in the shops. The vast majority of stuff out there is just paraphrased to hell. Surely I am not the ONLY one out there who has noticed this phenomenon?
Blessings,
Keri Eagan.

I love to read books when I have the time. Something to help switch the mind between tasks.

Keri,
Welcome! I look forward to reading what you have to say.
As for reading books, yes, I love it.

Favorite self help book this summer was The Rich Mans Secret by Ken Richards. It’s not new and it’s not even published any more, you have to get it on ebay or in a used book store. And it’s written like a novel, but it has a powerful message that has helped me enormously. Practical lessons for living in the moment…fits in well with all of Kevin’s books, tapes and mentoring actually because the first message is “Take the first step…”

Welcome!
There are many great (or should that be a great many) self-help books out there.
I like the ones which tell you ‘how’ and inspire you to action.
Too many (imho) just ‘preach’.
Blog-on!

This brings to mind a question I often ask when some aspect of sexual abuse, especially, is brought up: “What the hell is wrong with the men in this country?” if you know what I mean, and I think you do.
I’m not male bashing, after all we are just better, but something is missing in this equation.
Hi Keri,
Welcome to your first blog post here. Indeed, I enjoy good self-improvement books as well. I’m with you! I like to read books which have some real meat in them. I am not expecting the value of thousands of dollars of personal coaching from books by other experts, however, I DO expect to find a few NEW things or even if rehashed stuff (nothing new under the sun), I expect a fresh angle or perspective on it that helps propel us forward.

Hi Keri,
> The vast majority of stuff out there is just paraphrased to hell.
There’s an old Chinese saying, “There’s nothing new under the sun.” or “Old wine, new bottle.”
As far as it’s new to the readers, the books are “new”. When you are read widely and long enough, you’ve come to this observation.
But fair is fair, cutting “new” angles o the same old topics does help readers to have additional perspectives and understanding.
